Tempe Bus Museum Saturday 3rd May 2008 I must admit that I had some differing views on going to a bus museum - but wasn’t I pleasantly surprised! After meeting at Macdonalds on Davies Road we set off through the southern suburbs of Sydney fearing that our convoy of 7 cars would become separated with the number of traffic lights and general Saturday morning traffic. Fortunately this was not to be and with Dave’s excellent navigation skills we all stayed together and arrived at the Tempe Bus Museum in good time. First up was a trip on a double decker bus which we all thought would just be a trip around the block but again we were surprised - the trip took in parts of Arncliffe and through the International Departures of Sydney Airport. What a hoot - reliving memories and waving to people on the way who obviously had not seen one of these buses for a long time. From the amount of chatter and smiles it was easy to see that we all enjoyed the ride. After some time waiting and a bit of poking around the museum we we given a guided tour by one of the staff, Roy who was a wealth of knowledge, having worked "on the busses" for longer than most of us had been alive. To say that Roy was a "character" would be an understatement as his wit and good humour made the tour fantastic. We potted around the museum, while some of the others couldn’t resist and had another tour on the double decker - equally as good the second time around I’m told. The time certainly flew by and soon with stomachs rumbling it was off for a late lunch at the local Maccas before heading off home. What a great day - thanks to Dave for his organisation. Those who attended: Alan - Green LC GTR Ken - White LX Hatch Dave - Red LJ Sedan Ron - White LC Sedan Peter and Daniel - Red LX Sedan Ralph and family + friends - Blue LX Sedan Martin - Blue/Green Corolla Sandy and Susan + family - Blue Camry

Living in the 70's Street Party Sunday 4th May 2008
We were invited by the HIstoric Houses Trust to display 3 cars at their Living in the 70's Street Party held in The Rocks. Ken, Dave and Ralph offered their cars for display and whilst the show was not a large one it was well supported by lots of people throughout the day. Plenty of 70's music from live bands, face painting for kids and many stalls selling a whole lot of "stuff" from the 70's.
We did have a lot of interest oin the cars and took many enquiries on joining the club. It seems there are still a lot of Toranas hidden out there!
