NSW Commodore Clubs 2nd Birthday Car Show Penrith Panthers Saturday 24th November 2007
The day started as usual for a day at a car show, yes it rained. So Timmy and I set off to Penrith for the NSW Commodore Club's 2nd Birthday Show. The event was open to all makes and models and was held in Panthers car park.
There were about 60 cars who turned up - definitely less than expected, but probably due to the forecasted rain. A high majority of entrants were Commodore Club members. We had the magazine ‘Street Commodores’ taking photos, as they are planning to do a story on the day's events. So we will have to keep a look out in the next few weeks and see if Tim and I make it into the glossy print!
Towards the end of the day was the Awards Presentation, during which I received an award for 'Best Engine Bay’ and one for ‘Entrants Choice’. But the highlight of the day was the biggest trophy for ‘Best Car of The Day’. The presenter didn’t know the drivers name and announced the winner as the ‘Little Blue Torana SLR 5000’. Timmy piped up and yelled “That’s my car!”. He was very proud and chuffed and couldn’t get up there quick enough to accept his trophy … I’m proud of you mate - Congratulations - Well done Tim!
