Alan's 1970 LC GTR project The car is unusual in that it was originally Verdoro Green in colour with an Antique Gold interior. The restoration began with soda blasting in March 2007 to reveal previous damage and rust problems. Fortunately not too much rust; only in the door sills, rear window surrounds, bottom of the front guards and rear beaver panel. The car is to be restored to as close as possible to its former glory with the exception of the motor. While I have the original Holden 161 and Opel gearbox they will be replaced with a "warm" 202 and Aussie 4 speed. All trimming and interior parts are being remanufactured through various suppliers in Melbourne ~ Eastern Auto Upholstery (Seats), Adelaide ~ Dash Originals (Door trims and dash) and Perth ~ Seatbelt Solutions (Seatbelts). More photos will be posted as the project continues. The plan is to have it all finished in October/November (maybe December) 2007. Last minute delays meant it was registered in February 2008 - 2 days before being used as a wedding car! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | September 07 repairs done & now in spray booth. | | The 202 rebuilt | | First of the trim arrives from Dash Originals in Adelaide | | | | | | | | | | | | | We have paint! | | It's coming together - 20/10/07 | | Motor nearly all together | | | | | | | | | | | | | Trimming starts 1/11/07 | | Roof Lining | | Dash assembled 12/11/07 | | | | | | |
